Pappy has one under the bow shed that gets used a lot especially during the classic just pad the jaws with some thick leather and have at it. Ron

I use one I have mounted outdoors to rip off bark and sapwood. Its nice leaving the mess out there.

I use this one mainly for debarking, works great. It is mounted on a truck frame ,so it is heavy and won't move around when you work hard on it.  :)

I like my tripod vise. Was a pipefitter for 20 years, 20 years ago and it was an antique then.
I use wood forms with leather glued on the bow/stave side.

I have one of them also Lane,I like it also but not as good as the heavy one when I am debarking Osage or other tough wood you have to really get tought with. :)
For normal work it works great. :)
