Title: Couple Plains Quiver ?s

How much arrow do you guys leave sticking out of a plains style quiver?  It is my understanding that the quiver goes at least halfway up the length of the feathers with much less "arrow" exposed than a back quiver.  Also I want to make my quiver to hold at most 6-8 arrows.  What would you recommend for the diameter of the quiver (mouth and bottom)?

The plains style quivers I've made only had the nock sticking out.
  I make a pattern from poster board and adjust it accordingly until I get the size and shape I want.

Well I learned something!  I didnt realize that the plains quiver was worn on the bow arm side.

Cherokee,   I've seen people wear plains quivers both left and right sides.  Bowarm side is the way that feels natural to me, and as you can see the arrows are right where my drawing hand can easily reach.   When I'm moving the quiver is moved back behind or if jogging I often drop my bow hand down and grasp bow and quiver together.   Ron

Here my daughter models a plains style quiver made of bobcat pelts.  The quiver is shown worn the way a right-handed person would wear it.
