What is the best method for refreshing fletching? Thanks.

An old time method, Lane, is to steam them and some folks added cedar needles(actually scales) to the water. The cedar oil is to help with pest control.   I use a tea kettle so the steam is concentrated. You can watch the barbs of the feathers puff up and get in line. Pretty cool.  ;)

Thank you Pat. Was thinking steam but wasn't sure as to how.

Yep, I do just like Pat.  It's almost magic to see matted old feathers come back to life. :)

I run out way before that.

Oh heck yeah that's me also.  I seem to lose all my arrows before they ever wear out.  Kinda why I like to sign mine now on.  I've had a few make their way back to my quiver cause of that!

I'll have to remember the cedar scales in the steam next time I straighten out fletchings.  Mmmmm, the smell of cedar!
