I just finished a couple of Christmas presents...a shallow reflex/deflex and a more aggressive reflex/deflex long bow. Both of these have carbonized bamboo bellies and regular bamboo backing. They both pull a tad under 50#. The riser and handle on these are really subtle with not a lot of extra mass in the area. These were made with three laminations to include one IPE, one ash, and one hard maple.

them are purty, but we need a money shot, show me the money, Bub

Nice work! If they aren't happy with those presents they need a head exam.

Its been awhile since I posted and I forgot the money shot! These bows are in the mail now so I'll have two get that shot on the next ones. I do very little wood shaving tillering on these bows. Robustus taught me how to train them verses shaving wood. Anyway, with the carbonized bellies you don't want to take off the carbon! Thanks for all of the compliments.
Got a big boy in the works now. 68" longbow and shooting for 60 #...ish...
