I am brand new to bow making and i need a few Questions answered Im open to any and all advice. I started an oak board bow a couple months back it's 60" long a 1 1/8 at the handle and tapers to an inch at the tips. its 3/4 of an inch thick at the handle and tapers to 5/8" at the tips. Do i need to taper it more or sould it be fine the way it is??? Also what brace height sould I be looking for on a bow like this??? :-\

You can eventually take some wood off the last 8 or so inches . Is that your question?

you can taper the tips (widthways) down to 1/2".... and I would brace it between 51/2"-6", not more than 6", hope thats a help...

Ok thanks that was my Q. it just seems a little thick to me but i don't know much. Good site George it is very informative
