Finally finished this cable-backed hickory bow. 55" tip to tip, 47# @ 24" draw. Cable is 8 strands of twisted artifical sinew. Shoots very smooth.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.

AWESOME!!! I love those cable backed bows. Hows the artificial sinew workin? I was thinking about making a cable from real sinew and then backing a bow with that. Hope it works. Nice work Eric!

How much draw weight did the cable add?

Thanks for the positive replies.
The artifical sinew is working well. I purposely made the bow a little short and light knowing that this was an experiment to see how much the cable would add. It has added 8-9 pounds. If I were doing it over I would have secured the limbs in more of a reflexed position while tightening the cable.
The addition of the cable definitely improved the performance of the bow.
