Well sadly, the personal description is nothing more than a complete reversal of the order I suggested above.  The worst part is that the cut is right in the crease of the last joint in the middle finger of my bowstring-drawing hand. I guess the "best" part is I was partially anesthetized before it happened, lol.

I console myself with the thought that maybe a sacrifice of my own blood might help me spill another critter's...
