made this out of some flint i found close to my house picked up about 60lbs out off the side of the road gonna have to .ake another run over there

Thank you Tower. I found the matrerial about 5 miles from my house. i am going to go back tomorrow and load up. I found all of it in the ditch of a county road. I am going to try and find out who owns them and talk to em. I got about 60lbs in 10min just were i stopped and there was a whole lot more.

Its great i am not complaining. It s really good to. I picked up some pieces that wieght around 20lbs gonna have to get a spalling hammer now. Need to find out who owns the land on either side and have a talk.

Thank you guys. Pappy all of my point seem to start out good sized but i end up with small ones tryin to get them thined out enough for me. Guess i am to picky and want to have them as thin as i can get them. Just need practice more. I WILL get there.

thanks guys i am trying to get em more semitrical and thin these days but i will get there i got about 300-400 lbs today before a cold front blew in. See if i can get some nice spalls out of it and put a little heat to it.

I feel your pain, the more I try to thin the smaller they get...only mine don't get thinner just narrow! Good job it sounds as if you have some material to practice on...good luck, and happy knapping ;)

Thank you sir I do feel your pain it gets frustrating when you start out with a nice big spall and you end up with a little point.
