Picked up 2 pieces of maple at home depot last Friday. This board was so light and easy to work i immediately fell in love with it. I must say this is one of the best ones I have made so far. I have made 3 osage bows, 2 yew bows, a hickory bow, 1 red oak longbow, but this is the bow that shoots the best. She is 63 '' ntn and pulls 38# at 26". She shoots very fast and hits hard. Tiller looks off in the picture but its tillered quite well actually. Its the only bow that shoots my broadheads fast and hard without the zigzag. Outshoots my recurve too. I already almost took a doe with it. (http://i415.photobucket.com/albums/pp235/tombowyer/maplebowstring.jpg)

I think your tiller looks just fine. Good job! I am also a big fan of maple. Just one question, however, does your Mom know you're shooting in the house??? ;)
-
Good job young man! Fine bends you got there.

thanks and no im not shooting in the house. just for the picture ;D I spooked a doe and she ran, i knew where she should go so i ran across the trail and there she was. I nocked an arrow and right before i drew she took of. Also had a 6 pt buck come in but he was too far away.

Good Job on that bow, is it hard maple or soft maple? They say soft maple is not bow wood but some of my fastest shooters were soft maple.
-
pretty sure its soft maple. its extremely lightweight and its easily dented.
-
Nicely done with the bow and good luck in the woods.
-
Good job !!
It looks like it fits you well !!

For sure a nice tiller. good job! Its so exiting when you come accross the deer, heart raises and its hard to concentrate on one spot. good luck hunting.

Good job on that one, I like that tiller too.

Nice work! I gotta say, I think maple is a favorite of mine. Maybe because one of my first bows was a maple board bow. Anyway, great lookin bow!!

Howdy YB,
