A friend stopped today and asked if I would stop by his business. When I did, he gave me a three inch diameter, five foot long Osage log. I was quite taken back. Then he gave me a 5 inch diameter six foot long log. He had rescued them from a guy with a chainsaw! The rest of the tree was firewood. He says he'll get more later. They're "green" but I'll split, seal and stack them in the garage! :D Christmas in October!

...a new osage bow?

That is a good friend. I love friends like that. I have parents, teachers, and church folk that bag up snakes, toss them in the freezer and bring them to me.

Split the logs and glued the ends today. Several staves...YAHOOOOOOOO!!! Can't wait for them to dry naturally and start bow-makin!
