Title: Hickory bow 65@26
Post by: Auggie on October 20, 2011, 01:05:53 pm
I love this bow,but can't do the poundage, >:(. Its 58",65@26. Dyed green and black w/a simple leather grip.Shot it 200plus times. Shoots good, pretty snappy. Made the string out of artificial sinew, not sure I like it,but was out of B-50. Looking  to trade for similar length but 50 lbs.

why don't you just re-tiller it, and drop the poundage?

No, that's not silly at all. However, couldn't you just re-do the finish as well. Unless it's a massey finish or something similar.
The reason I ask... I've done the same thing with a couple of bows that were a bit too heavy for daily shooting. A few scrapes, and you can take 10#s off. Just a thought.
