Hey all, Hows it going? Been pretty busy with the miltary and all but squeezed in some time to make this for a friend in the guard. Its 64 in tip to tip 45 lbs @ 27". Shoots real well for a lighter bow. Might even hunt with it before i send it to him, shhh... Dont tell. Anyway 2" wide till just before mid and tapered to small knocks, little less than 1/4". Ended up having a concave back after ring chasing but worked out great. Has about 1/2" of set after sitting all night. 1" after shooting a while. Here are some pics enjoy.

First. Thank you very much for serving in the military.
Nice bow! I like the handle and the stain. I especially like the gazelle design. Is that a gazelle? Looks cool.
The tiller looks good as well. Good job! Your friend will be most pleased.

Very cool of you to build for a friend. Great tiller!

Howdy MSPINK,
It's going well, thanks. And, Yes, thank you for serving.
I am a fan of the red oak, mine are all from boards.
I like your bow a lot including that handle wrap - simple but deadly.
Perhaps, if you think the 45 lb.s is a little light for hunting, you could crop off an 1-1/2" or 2" from the ends to up the poundage a few notches. I think the bow looks plenty long for you to get away with shortening it a little. Or, just leave it as is and call it good. It's a beauty.
All the Best,
Canoe

Thanks for your service. The bow looks great. I am curious about why you chased a ring on red oak. Just wondering. Jawge

Your service means alot, thank you.
Design and execution on your bow ... excellent job. Really like it. And Canoe makes good sense about possible piking but I guess you did make it for someone else. But like George I am confused about the ring chasing. Care to elaborate?

The ring chasing may be because the stave was harvested with the sap down? He never said it was from a board.

Thanks everyone. Chased a ring because it was a board and the back needed work. Pretty much chased it the entire length. And yes I made it for a friend that wanted 45 lbs. I just like it so much I might hunt with it.

Got it. Thanks.Jawge

The wrap and the art work added that certain something that brings it to the next level ,whoever receives that is one lucky individual ;)
And like the others I thank you for your service!
