hi all :D
So I'm working on a elm static re-curve and i have a small splinter on the back(well I'm sure it will become a splinter) so what I'm wondering is could i put a small patch of raw over the splinter instead of backing the whole bow???
thanks very much

Yes, you can. Jawge

What I usually do is wrap the splinter with back sinew. Looks kinda cool after the bow has a finish on it, also. I call it a band-aid.

Don't see why not, any good wood glue should work.I usually do like Matt and wrap it,never really tried a rawhide patch, I know it should work fine just never tried it. :)
