Hi, I'm new here and I have enjoyed a lot of what I have read. I thought I'd share this table from one of my woodworking books. It lists a number of species of hard and soft woods readily available in the U.S. The Tension and Compression values that are most important to a Bowyer would be the values perpendicular to the grain.
