“Legacy” is a red oak pyramid style bow with a subtle pistol grip handle. Tip overlays are osage and the riser is layered with rosewood and hickory for stark natural dark and light contrasts. 50 pounds at my 24” draw, the bow is expected to be my go-to hunting weapon come October. The bow is coated 8 times in Tru-Oil, my new favorite finish, and was left unstained so that the natural beauty of the woods would dominate the classic look. The handle, too, demanded to be left uncovered early in the bow-building process. The bow is 60 and ½ inches long ntn, and 3/8 inches at the tips ballooning to 2 and 1/8 at the widest part above the handle. Although I named this bow “Legacy” for its looks, I should have dubbed it “Warhammer” for its hard hitting thumping action. It's a fast and ferocious shooter that with a little luck and a little skill should bring in a deer this fall.
