The midwest.
-
oh wait i know, south a alaska somewhere 8)

I've seen osage in IL, IA, NE, KS, MO, OK & TX. Of those states I would say Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri had the most. Illinois had quite a bit too, especially down state. If I had to choose 1, it'd be Oklahoma.

We have it in Indiana, but I don't think it's native. Our property lines are hedgerows.
-
not Arizona..... want some cactus?
-
I don't recall how prevelant it was when I lived in Pennyslvania, but you can definitely fine some "Monkey Ball Trees" up there.
-
nevermind...meant to say theres no more osage in ks.... >:D
-
Not GA got a lot of hickory and oak.
-
Got a good amount of it in southern ohio and kentucky. Might not be native but I know of a good amount of woods that are basically osage old growth, so they got here sometime. I know of an osage tree wide enough at the trunk you could cut threw it and drive a car threw it like those red woods just about.

Not sure if the whole state of Alabama has it, but here in central Alabama, it is quite plentiful. Just about every hedge row has it whether it's in the city limits, or a cattle farm out in the country. I have seen some HUGE osage trees around as well.

Kansas has quite abit but its easier to get to and normally better growth rings in Oklahoma. Most farmers will let you cut you fill in either state. Just ask first. ;D ;D ;D
-
I've seen more in south-central Oklahoma than anywhere else. I know Arkansas and Missouri have lots of it too. I've heard Texas has quite abit but that cant be true cause nothing good comes out of Texas. >:D

Amen brother....ain't that the truth..lol

I have harvested Osage in OK, AR, and MO. I think I've seen more in MO than anywhere. I live in AR and I believe the straightest and less narly stuff I've gotten here in NW AR. The Osage in OK and MO look like very large bushes.
-
Forget a state osage outlaw can't climb over his pile he may need help :o id go there :-X ;D

true but you have too know where to look ie. creek bottoms and dense forest will give you the straightest trees..
