Well let me start off by saying that i was hunting with an osage selfbow that i made and it had a serious crook in it and it had an accident while antelope hunting, its not broke but i wanted one i could rely on 100% so i started building a new one. problem was that was only days before deer season.
so tuesday i roughed it out, wednesday i tillered it, thursday i finished it out, friday i practice with it, and knapped two stone arrow heads and build 2 arrows for them. i hunted saturday (opening day), sunday, and then shot this muley Monday evening. talk about a rush job huh?
ok so here are the stats and such. I had a nice chance on a big doe but she never gave me a clean shot and instead of trying to force a shot with a stone point, I let her walk. About 30mins later this one came by and stood perfectly still looking the other way at 17y (thought it was closer, but i stepped it off) So i let the arrow fly and passed completely through. it ran about 30y and tipped over. hit it just perfect, just behind the shoulder, couldnt have asked for a better shot.
The bow is an OSAGE 66# @ 25", Natural cut river cane arrow, tipped with a Texas chert point i knapped. made all of the equipment myself as usual. excited to have one down already and with a stone point to boot! i will have to show better pics of my gear soon, but couldnt wait to post the delicious steaks. thanks for looking- Ryan

Two best sauces for venison (and any other game) is self made equipment and high ethical decision making. Makes 'em taste extra good, don't it?
Thanks for sharing the story if not the chops! By the way, Love your camo pattern.
