Title: string keeper????
Post by: lowell on September 03, 2011, 05:58:22 pm
Does anyone make a homemade string keeper that can stay on the bow when braced as well as not braced??

Or is that something that is  not done??

If someone has one .....I'd like to see a pic.

                  Thanks, Lowell

Hey Lowell, So I just use a hair tie. They are really cheap. They stretch out after a while, and have to be replaced, but I have two daughters in the house. There is never a shortage of them things. They can stay on while being strung, just tried it for the first time. ;) I'm not sure if it'll stay on while shooting though.

Thanks Dave,

Not as primitive as I was thinking but it got me thinking ;D.....maybe a rubber band would keep the string on the nock too??

I was hoping for something that would keep the string on the nock all the time??

  GaryR......
It would just make it easier to just put the nock on one end of the bow when I string it, rather than make sure the string is in place before I string it!!!

For most of mine I just use a plain old rubberband to keep the unstrung string tight on the bow.  I do take it off when I brace the bow.
