Title: Types of Knapp able rock

Someone asked me what type of rocks are Knapp able and it got me to thinking how many different kinds of rocks there are. I know of:
Obsidian
Flint
Chert
Agate
Jade
Serpentine
Basalt
Coral
Fused Shale and Fused mud stone
Quartz
What types do you know of? Thanks.

Rhyolite, dacite, quartzite, silicified sandstone, silicious limestone, jasper, argillite, felsite, chalcedony, novaculite, porcelinite, and the list goes on and on.

You can take Jade off that list. It was ground and polished.

I'm kinda partial to flint/chert. and the occasional obs and dacite. I'm sure theirs too many to list but that's what i've messed with so far - cowboy..

Ok I will scratch jade from that list. I forgot about petrified wood, opal, and also opalized or agatized materials. Thanks for the replies, anyone else with different types of rocks?

Closest thing you will find around here is Thunderstone and Johnstone. And I don't like either one.  :D :D

anything will knap, just gotta hit some rocks harder than others  >:D

I have tried to knapp ice before but it melted too fast on me. Anyone try hard candy or chocolate before?

To over simplify, anything hard enough to give a conical break and breaks sharp..
