Nice bow, I like it...Crepe Myrtle...who wudda thunk it?  Nice, and 52# isn't a shabby draw weight for the dimensions!

Now that's neat Ken. I tried CM for arrows once, and they were as brittle as pretzels. How does it shoot, and how is performance? Good job. God Bless

I've been watching for some CM ever since you posted about building one.  Surely somebody cuts one down sometimes??  It's everywhere, but I never see it cut. :(

Beautiful bow.

Great tiller, ken.  You handled the character in that wood really well.

Nice bow Ken and a great circular full draw as usual!  8)  How does the crepe myrtle work?  A guy that used to be here on PA naned Thimo made heavy(90# to over 100#) bows with crepe myrtle.

I was lucky enough to have Ken give me his "first" crepe myrtle bow.....wouldn't trade it for nothing. Only thing I know about the wood at all is the one I have is very light in mass, very fast in arrow delivery, and is real well mannered. Me and some of the guys on the site have kicked around different ideas on "good" bow woods and took to saying that "good wood wants to get back straight in a hurry".....my crepe myrtle bow definately falls into that category.

There are plenty growing around Houston.

thanks again guys , Scott i havent seen a performance diffeence yet but i will watch for anything while i build the next few . i  have a couple more small diameter ones ready for shaping before i get into the big stuff. it does steam good so the next one might just be a recurve. bout ready to do a static again its been a while
