I have a couple of 72" ipe slats that are 1 1/2" wide and 1/4" thick. My questions are: would you make a tri lam using both pieces and a raw boo back or would one piece be enough to make a bow? I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if I can make one or two bows.
I'm trying to get 50-55# with a ntn length of 64". I am not opposed to going shorter to make weight. Also, the form has very little deflex and 4" of reflex, but that can change too.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Artie, I would think that 1/4" ipe would be plenty for a 50#-55# boo backed bow. I have only built a few ipe bows and they were backed with hickory but I got 50# at least with them. Pat
