Title: Enlighten me on cotton backing?

I'm going to snag me up a couple of red oak boards tomorrow and I intend to back them with cotton print fabric.  Will it hold up okay if I've got a run out or two?

depends on how bad the runoffs are, if their not to bad go for it, Bub
