Title: Burlington Cahokia.
Post by: Tower on July 13, 2011, 11:46:19 am
Been busy packing,boxing-up, & squaring everything up for the move. Started weeding out some of my rocks , keeping the real good stuff  & throwing out the lesser material. I found an old piece of burlington I didn't remember having. It gave me the itch for some silica dust. Took a little time off to knap yesterday & came out with this one. It's the 1st Cahokia I've made.

Pertty point. You did that rock proud.  You ought to be able to find some good knapping rock in that part of the world too.  I had a great time in San Marcos, New Braunfels, Lockhart, Luling, & Seguin Texas when I was there a long time ago.  I went tubing on the Guadalupe River out of New Braunfels & had a blast. I met a lot of good people there too.

Very nice work! Is that rock cooked or raw? Just curious because if it's raw then man o man that is super, If it's cooked then man o man that's super! ??? ;)

Love your work Tower.

It knapped like it was cooked. With that being said I've only knapped the stuff once & it was a while ago. I think I picked it up at the Pedernales a few years ago. I swapped a point for 2 buckets of rock. Pretty good trade! I don't have much out of state material. Again it acted like it was cooked.

Ahh, man. I envy your move to New Braunfels. Love that country down there! Always thought if i was to ever move it'd be down that way or out in the hill country somewhere - Bandera comes to mind. Lot's of rocks too..
