Title: Soon to be pyramid limbed molly...
Post by: toomanyknots on July 11, 2011, 01:13:14 pm
It's 1 1/2" wide at the fades to 1/2" wide at the lever fades...,  1/2" consistent thickness, around 62" long I think total. I'm thinking about putting about 2 layers of sinew on it. I figure that would make a pretty fast bow.

What type of wood is it? It looks cool. If you sinew then just feather it out just over the fades of the levers(but you prob got that figured out)   the sinew and that design will def put a lot of strain on the belly. Hope you have a compression strong wood, otherwise that might want to fret if not tillered carefully. Can't wait to see what happens with your next conncotion.  :D

"Think you are missing a navel ring bro..."

LOL  ;D

"What type of wood is it?"

Well red oak of course,  ;D. I got some linen too if I get to lazy to sinew. But of course the grain is quite good enough to just leave it unbacked if I wanted too. That is if I am very lazy. I back every board bow I do though anymore. I got a sapwood backed osage molly in the works too right now, wideth at the lever fades are a bit more (like a 1/4" more or so) but the design is roughly the same.
