I knapped a piece or burlington once. It knapped great but there were so many small shell fossils it made pressure flaking a pain. Again nice point!

Tower I have become very selective at the quarry for that same reason.  So much of this stuff is really slick and holds together well.

Cool I am glad you like the picture.  I think sometimes a cool point can be more interesting if you know what it started as.  A lot of my rock has to be carefully cleaned up so that the cracks are eliminated and soft cortex is removed before the process can really start. I had two challenges with this stone it had a crack that terminated deep into the stone (you can still see it in the last picture it looks like a step but it has no ridges running to the edge) and the other was that the tip broke as I was cleaning up the edge.  I did not support the tip well enough.  My goal is to make points that are around 100gr this one came in at 99gr.

I like it too.  I started taking pictures of the spalls before I started, but so many were breaking and I was afraid I was boring everybody.

I think the process is fun for most people to see.  I like to see the history of what choices I made and then critique my ideas afterwards.

Critique, there's a novel idea.  Heck, right now I'm so happy when I actually get a point I can use I don't think about analyzing things at all. ;D

Lol your doing great! Keep doing what works and the muscles in your arms will develop and that will allow you to have control to do more technical stuff.  Only do what you know will work and never just hit the stone randomly.
