How do shoot shafts stack up to cane or milled wooden shafts ?

Sourwood shoots are my favorite arrow material. They are very tough, heavy and fly great when made properly.

You can make a shoot look like a dowel but you can't make a dowel look like a shoot.  Cane is in a league by itself.  ;)

With a thumb plane sand stone sander and 40 grit sandpaper. SO CAN MAKE SHOOTS LOOK LIKE SHAFT ARROW. It's all in the time and patence you want to put into it. Same with cane it's all in what you want.
