Title: Fathers day scotty
Post by: Timo on June 19, 2011, 11:34:16 pm
After breaking a heart breaker this afternoon, :'(  I got back on the horse and spurred my way through a piece of Flintridge. It started out as a Hardin, but I nipped an ear and had to change my thoughts, so it wound up a Scotts Bluff. It's alot prettier rock than the pics show.

Well, you certainly have not lost your touch Tim! That's a beauty for sure. Love that edge to edge flaking. Wanna show me how to do that?

Thanks all. Cowboy, I learned that pattern by watching Marty Reuters video on making the Sloan Dalton.  I was using copper, but the same technique  applies. I just try to run them ribbons to the ridge and then bring them over from the other side. Lots of variable at play.  Work off a pretty tight edge, just grind it well .Tool spacing comes with doing,so do Brother! ;D

That is a good piece of rock so that makes it easier, also the point is only 1 1/4" wide.
