This is my first point from rhyolite. NClonghunter sent me some. This is some tough rock but truthfully it knapps allot easier than the kanawha black around here. let me know what you think.

It's a good shape and would be a good whitetail point... :)
One thing I noticed about the Kanawha rock was that it was more layered than the NC rock. Sorta like a layered shale.
Keep at it Greg, can't do anything but get better from here.

Dang, that looks good! Thin too. I've tried several times, just cant get rhyolite to look like that.

Looks like a good job to me. The thing I've noticed about rhyolite is that it loves to hinge and stack unless you grind and set up platforms carefully. Then you've got to really hit it to drive the flake off cleanly. If you can do that well with rhyolite, just wait till you get ahold of some good rock.
