Title: Bird cherry (prunus padus)

I dont think this one grows in US but perhaps someone from GB or EU have tried it.
A buddy gonna take a big Bird cherry down in his yard,and of course i secured all that can be made into a bow ;D
The thing is i know next to nothing about it besides remembering reading somewhere it could make a good bow.
So any input is welcome.

I live in uk. I made an ash backed bird cherry a few years ago  and it made a real nice bow , good compression for its weight, its pretty hard similar to oak but lighter in weight, took very little set and nice to work, wasnt confident enough not to back it but probablty would have been ok....?

Anything special on how to dry it? or is it like most whitewood,just glue,bark and split?

same as other white woods, it splits much easier when green, when its dry the split tends to run off. when green splits very nicely, thats my experience anyway
