At the suggestion of another PA member I decided to put up some pics of my most recent bow build. I don't have a full draw pic yet, but I can get one as soon as somebody is around to take my picture. Kinda tough to do by yourself.
It's 60" long tip to tip, 50# @28" snake skins are hog nosed snake center, brown snakes on each side, and black snake last 8" of the tips. All road kill pick ups from the road in front of my house.......Waste Not Want Not I always say. ::)
I did this as a practice run for my first snake skined bow before I use my 37" Diamondbacks that I'm saving. I think I got the process down now so the Diamondbacks will get used on the next one that seems worthy of skinning.

Said it before and I'll say it again...Wicked, wicked Serpent Stick bro! I have been combing the highways and side roads hoping like heck some poor helpless snake got run over but so far I'm still SOL.

Thanks for all the kind words guys!
I'll get an un-braced profile and a full draw pic up soon, cause I know that nothing is considered complete without those 2 pics.
Everything about this bow was pretty much made from scraps. It's a splice in the handle bow from 2 leftover pieces of osage I had under my bench. I used them cause I had never done a splice before........so that was a first.
Then I backed it with the worst piece of bamboo I had........another first.
Then the patchwork of recycled road kill snakes..........yet another first skinnin a bow.
I actually never thought it would make it all the way to the end, but sometimes that's just how things turn out.
It shoots awesome, hits right where I'm lookin' shoots those CX Predators like darts! 90gr. brass inserts (100gr. brass inserts turned down) with another 100gr. on the tip for 190gr. total up front, 490gr. total arrow wt.
I chronoed this bow just for kicks and it pushes these 490gr. arras as fast as my Bear Grizzly if you can believe that? It's true.
Never thought I could do that with scraps and a bow I built in my garage.
Lee- Thanks man, put the word out to all your friends and kin folk that you want snake skins too. ;)
