Title: Small Piece of Osage
Post by: HickoryBill on April 27, 2011, 09:31:45 pm
I know this is gonna seem weird but I would like to get a small piece of Osage to make a medicine arrow. It needs to be straight grained and as knot free as possible( Yeah Right!!) It can either be split or sawn. doesn't matter. And at least 29" long. Pm me if interested I have stuff to trade.   Thanks Bill

I just ripped 2 osage boards down to board staves and have pieces left that might work.  Not sure they're straight grained enough though.  Not sure there are osage trees in Texas straight grained enough... :'(

Here they are, one has a little more heartwood than the other.  Took a picture of both sides.

The grain appears to be pretty crooked? A few knots there too?
