this 2 part video series is very similar to the technique i use for a lot of my knapping these days. i will eventually get a vid posted of the way i do it but thought this would help a lot of guys . enjoy

Jamie, thanks for posting that vid link. I tried out the part about adding mass by using another rock and it works great. I am terrible at knapping, but just by using this technique I have consistently run thinning flakes half way or more across junky rhyolite( saving the better stuff for after I improve). Can't wait to try using the punch.

glad it worked out for ya. ive yet to try adding mass yet. i should of done it today but i need to pick up some flat stones to use as anvils. my daughter finally got her video camera back so i will be recording soon.
