Title: Picture of ryolite formation.
Post by: Ncsnipe on April 21, 2011, 12:56:53 am
The chalky blocky formation is the ryolite. Unfortunatly the owners would not answer the doorbell, so I was unable to go through the formation in thier yard.

Hmmm I wonder if we're thinking about the same place..............I located a spot down there I been wanting to get to, but haven't had the chance. I bet there's some good rock in there. I'll find out in May. lol.

Some of it was very nice and some of it was leaverite. You just had to knock a piece off and see. The one thing I noticed was that you could hit on a piece and if it rang it was most likely a good one . If it didn't ring it was always bad.
