thanks guys.
sure do appreciate all yr input, encouragement, and kind words.

Sadie,
Very nicely done, like the color scheme and the braced profile is great.....sorry your customer wants the leather and floppy, kind of like just like it is, myself.
rich
-
thanks rich.
not a customer(i'm really a rank amateur and no plans of ever having customers..)
but a good friend.
and tho i don't really feel comfortable building for others as i dont have enough under my belt at this point.
i feel pretty comfortable with this bow...and with my friend in case that bow ever broke.
he understand bows and the inherent possibility of bows breaking
yup i agree about the rest...personally prefer off the hand shooting. and i think it looks out a place on this bow.

Nice work, glad it all worked out. Cool looking bow. :)

Nice work.

Love everything about this bow...I have one up my sleeve for a rawhide build as well. Is that goat or whitetail rawhide? Paint job is excellent.
-
thanks folks. your responses are really appreciated.
the rawhide is just the "commercial" stuff many archery supplies sell. reckon it's cow.
tho if it is, it has been thinned as it was as thin as any deer rawhide i've had.
got a full deer rawhide coming from a pal. so next time...will cut my own.
glad you like the paint lee. i had so many ideas regarding design.
did over a dozen full size painted on outlines on butcher paper.
but really liked the simple lines.
have a short sinew backed osage bow drying in the rafters at present. it may get a more elaborate design...
thanks again!

BTW, you're tip for laying out a template on butchers paper and playing around is a good one. Sometimes I get the urge and just want to "do it" but when I'm done I can see that I could have benefited by slowing down and letting the creative juices "simmer" a bit longer.
I'd like to see a money shot of that bow spitting out some Osier ;)
