Anyone here ever heard of it, or used it? One of the mills near me carries the stuff. They list it as dense and heavier than water. Figured it might be a nice alternative to ipe, however I've yet to find any information on how it glues, or if it will at all.

Yeah thats about all I've found as well, found another site that lists some of its working properties, but gluing was left off the list. I was more looking to see if it was glue-able or if it needed treating first, like oil removal ect.

The Woods of the World disk I have has the trade name down as Jucaro and says it is very hard, harder even than Brazilian Rosewood. It has a SG green of .93 so that would put it over 1.0 dry. Besides that it doesn't have much information and none on its gluing properties. If I had access to it I would try it, with a Bamboo backing.

The, "Wood Explorer", google it, has some interesting information on it. If vaneering is the same as glueing it says that it is good. It also says it doesen't have the natural oil as cocobola and other wood that is used for ship bearings and steam bends easily. I also didn't know it is widespread in South Florida and goes by the name here as Black Olive.
