Here's my latest effort and my best to date! I named her Bad Ash. Made this one for my buddy Dan.
Linen backed white ash, 66" NTN, 45#@ 27" Weighs 23 oz I induced about 1.5" of reflex in it and after
unbracing it has barely an inch of string follow. This bow shoots real nice and whisper quiet.

Dana, it looks great. Clean - a hunting weapon. I really like the back, and the handle. Did you stain the bow? And what is the width at the fades?

Dane I used black rit dye for a stain, width is 1.75" to midlimb then tapers to 0.5" at nocks
Handle is jute cord that I torched to give it a mottled look.
So now I have 2 buddies that are shootin primitive ;D one by one we can convert them ;)

Dana, way to kick some ash!!!, sorry I couldn't resist. That looks like a great bow, won't be long and everyone you know will have one of your bows, I'm getting to the point where I'm running out of people to make bows for. I do have one I want to make for a little girl about 6 years old, I'm thinking of starting today, haven't decided on material, could go solid boo floor backed with something, or ash, I think I have some maple left too. Gotta give it some thought, first I have to go to church, then it's into the garage for the day. I just finished some arrows for the little girls brother who has had one of my bows for about a year.
Do you and your buddies hunt together Dana?

Very nice. The pic of the handle looks like a dark walnut stain. What color dye did you use? I like the jute handle....goes good with the arrow rest. The camo on the back really sets it off. How'd ya do it?
-
nice bow. I particularly like the handle and the stain job. good going.
-
Loved to see the motorcycle but the bow looks really good, too. ;)
Got your bookmarked for May Self Bow of the Month

Thanks guys.
The camo paint is so easy, black spray paint for the base, then just alternating green and brown stripes.
You can buy camo spray paints check Lowe's or such.
I like the cord grip on this bow myself it really comfy and waterproof, soak the cord in thinned
white glue, then 3 or 4 coats of spar varnish

Dusty this camo job was way too easy, Justin I have never seen Jawge's ties
