yesterday i was unable to get onto PA's website
this was all day long, all night long
its not the first time in recent history that this has been happening
in the last 3 weeks i would wager to say it has happened atleast 5 times
5 times where i have been unable to get onto the site(and this last for the better part of the entire day)
i try from both computers at home, from my fancy 3g phone, even the computer at work
so i know its not just my network or router at home
when it happens i can still get onto any other website,so once again i know its not my equipment
just curious if anyone else is having these issues,or if its a site issue
so whats up with that????

had the same problem
-
They had a problem with the website yesterday.
-
I thought it was my phone. Good to know it wasn't.
-
Same thing here. I kept getting this message: "Failure to connect to web server"
I was getting all twitchy and pacing around the house checking it every 5 minutes.
-
Mine was out yesterday too. As far as 5 times in the last short while that has not happened , at least not on my computer. A few weeks ago the website was down but other than that I've had no problems.
-
well glad its not just my computer atleast
Pat, not saying that each time it has been out for a long period
but like i said, about 5 times in the last three weeks
some times it just a matter of not being able to get on for 5 min
sometimes its an hour
or like yesterday
but it has been numerous times in recent history
even when posting or sending pm it seems to take a long time to get it posted/sent
atleast a long time compared to the past

Primitive Archer upgraded the system a few years ago and our numbers have increased quite a bit since then. It is expensive to keep a website running and to keep it healthy. PA carries this site on its own and if we had more subscribers to the magazine then PA would have more resources to help maintain the site. Buying a PA Magazine off the rack gives PA exposure but doesn't contribute much monatarily to the magazine. Subscriptions do!

Well lets just hope it don't go "By The Wayside"....like so many other good sites have in the Past...would be a Shame

I was down all afternoon yesterday also. I was up at 2:30 (Mountain Time) this morning and checked and it was back up then.

Yeah, me too. I figured it had to do with a problem, or upgrading the system. I was up till around three am, and it wasn't up.
I could get on to other websites, but not PA, kept getting the msg. Website not found. Well computers don't like me anyway. Especially this one. So I cranked up my brand spanking crispy new lap top, same story. But all is well now, and life is good, to paraphrase Pappy. ;) :)

Hadn't had any problems yet ,but like Pat said if all the members here would subscribe to The Mag. it would go a long way in keeping it up dated, They don't require it,but it would be nice. :)

Yup, I realized I was a PA junkie when I couldn't get on and even visiting some of the other really nice sites I kept coming back to check on PA about every 1/2 hour or so...
I didn't realize that there was that much of a difference for PA whether the Mag was sold over the counter vs. subscription (since the over the counter is obviously more $) so if it makes that much of a positive impact for them then I'll have to get a Subscription starting today (sounds like a good excuse to me anyway ;D)
Love this site!

My wife says I am addicted to the PA site! Where I live its my main entertainment. Its a hour each way and adventure in the winter time to just go for groceries. Anyway the shut down could have come at a much worse time as on Monday morning when I am getting my Twin Oaks fix! ;D A/Ho Indian Joe

I have been buying the mags from the store. I will be sending away for a subscription now after seeing there is a difference.

Yup, I got to it this morning and did the on-line subscription...so it's official, addict indeed >:D
-
I renew every year...two years ago I did it at the classic....guess I'll do it again this spring.
-
I got my first subscription to PA about 6 months before the magazine came out. Had a subscription and every copy since then.
Thanks Lee. Now you are part of the solution! 8)

No need to thank me Pat, even if the subscription fee was only for access to the Forum and the resources here it would be a small price to pay. Glad to be a part of it...

Had the same trouble connecting a time or two. Did not understand how the magazine and website were connected. I bought off the rack for a couple years before subscribing but did not use the site because I thought it was just for subscribers.
Pat, it might be an idea to put this word out in PA cause it is clear that some of us don't understand how things work. This is THE site for me and I want it healthy and long-lasting. I would be willing to pay to use this site.
