Anybody know were I can find good workable stone here in central Missouri?

Isn't there a noviculite quarry around there somewhere? Seems like I read about it once and planned to stop there if I ever went to MOJAM.

:D you will find burlington chert,around st.louis any where you see them putting a store in or road as you driving down the interstate.It is some super nice material to work.An if you head southeast theres some applecreek .

I've seen some good flint from the Sedailia mo. area,and Boone county(Columbia) alegedly has some too

Go down rt y and try cedar creek. Just east of the creek back up the road the is a county road headed south take it. The road will take you to an old bridge steel structure that creek had a lot of rock in it. You might check the quarry that is locate just west. It will be the first public pull off on the right side back down that hill is a quarry. I don't know if it has flint in it but the rock face is open. This the mark twain area. I lived 1 mile from there 10years ago

go to PP and get a hold of Butch Siedle (sp?)
i believe hes from missouri,i bought some of his local rock from him recently at a knapp in
he also has some nice keokuk,flint ridge,dacite,novaculite (or atleast he did a couple weeks back)

Yeah, I met Butch a couple o years ago,I'm pretty sure he's from the Sedailia area. He's usually at the Boonville knap in .
