Title: A man named Indian Joe York
Post by: Ranger B on February 28, 2011, 10:29:09 pm
Friends are hard to come by in a world that is increasingly self-centered.  I'm fortunate to have a few great one and Joe York is one.  Since I've known Joe the one thing that really stands out is that he is always thinking of others.  He's a very giving man and I'm proud to know him.  He's also a longtime paratrooper - so that notches him up even more in my book  ;D

Today I came home and there was a box waiting on me.  These pictures do not begin to do this piece of art justice.  Joe, I can't begin to thank you enough.  You made this Airborne Ranger's day.
Sincerely - Ranger B

But then, Ranger, I think the same about you as well.

That's very nice Ranger! I experienced the same generousity from Joe. In return for some points "I think" he sent me a work of art similar to that bag. It was a billy club in a bag with the same attention to detail. Wish I was home - I'd post a picture. You the man Joe!

Beautiful Jimmy, you got it just right about Joe. He is a very giving man, almost to giving for his own good sometimes, which makes him even more special. :)

:-[ :-[ :-[ Hey, I know that guy personally and he is just an old worn out f--t that has to keep busy trying to make things.  With all the guys on this site that have been good to him, those that he would like to be able to hunt with and share some time with he just feels a kindred ship.  It was a great day when Mike and Stacey Huston introduced him to the PA world.  That first trip to the Classic made a huge impression on him. :o  Very Old Indian Joe

Man! that is cool, Jimmy. I bet that will hang in a place of honor. And like everybody said, you couldn't meet a nicer, more humble, guy than Joe. Looking forward to seeing you again at the Classic, Joe.

I've been a recepiant of Joe's kindness and generosity as well! It was indeed a great day when Joe was introduced to the "PA world"...he has enriched a lot of people's lifes as a result. He is a very good friend of mine who along with a few other great folks here on PA has given counsel to me personallly when I was down.

Beautiful work Joe!

Very nice Joe! I've been fortunate to get to sit and listen to his stories. Can't wait til the Classic to hear some more from him. Wish you could be there this year too Jimmy.  You can bet you'll be missed and talked about.
