My last idea.Hickory heartwood , sinew , static recurve.Sinew in leather, fish glue. 58 inch long , about 50 lb .Reflex in rest about 6 inch after unstrung about 5 ( including recurve tips , about 3 ich on limbs).I start tillering with over 7 inch of reflex. Mass of bow 430 gram , not bad by hickory and sinew.I dont shoot yet on chrono, to cold outside but I expect good performance.

I like that! It has a nice curve and looks like it should be fast.
-
Great looking bow, should perform very well, you really put that sinew to work. Steve
-
Nice Bow. I like the way you did your grip a lot.
-
Very nice bow, great reflex, bet it will be fast.Did you put rawhide over the sinew, If not you sure done a slick job on the sinew.Looks just like a rawhide backed bow. :)

VERY NICE
ill bet it spit arrows quit fast
let us know how it does on the chrono
-
That is a GREAT looking bow. I wish I could see that one in person. Wonderful profile, excellent touch with the handle and small touches. Really nice!
-
I really like the lines formed by the grip, it gives the braced bow an extra curvy look.
-
thanks guys. This is my first bow wood/sinew , I made for this time horn/wood/sinew bow , Im suprised how good sinew and wood keep reflex on bow without horn, intresting.
-
That is a beautiful bow.
-
well done , nice bow
-
Excellent bow with beautiful lines and great curves. 8)
-
That is a mighty fine bow! looks like a speedster. love the grip, and the unstrung profile looks wicked> good job
-
Great curves and tiller, it looking fast! U did it very well.
-
Very nice. I like that style.
-
Yes I agree, very nice one.
What are the limb dimensions in width from fades? It looks almost like it is parallel until the tips. Danny
-
Very nice work! Jawge
-
Very nice.
Question...Are you Lukas Novotny?
-
Great looking bow very fine tiller!!
-
thanks for kind words , Im not Lukas Nowotny , Lukasz Nawalny from Poland, Europe , intresting parallel of names :).Limbs from 3,5 cm near handle to 1,5 cm near recurve
-
Very nice bow Lukasz!
-
well welcome lukasz...I have yet to try sinew backing yet. Am quite eager to try it out.
-
Very impressive work. I had to take a look when I saw the title "reflex/reflex" :)
-
very nice , I like it, interested to here the chrono results when you test it, maybe you could PM me with them, (when it warms up) ? I am very interested in this type of bow, have made some experiments my self,
-
Awesome bow Lukasz!! I like everything about it.
-
Oh Lukasz, that is one fine looking bow! Simply elegant. I can only imagine that it will perform like a champion.
Excellent work, sir!
-
Can you share your plans on how you made the bow?

I start with shape of simple short flatbow with recurve.Next I put reflex on limbs with use hot steam. After rehydration of wood , few days I work with sinew and fish glue. After few weeks I make tillering. Not big deal ;).One more foto. I think about two weeks should be warmer and I will made chrono test.I think that could be problems reach 180 fps with 9/10 gpp.Hickory is a little to hevy to make very high performance bows, similar bow from elm will be 80 - 100 gram lighter and such bow should with no problem shoot well over 180 fps
-
Lukasz...That's an awesome bow love the profile....Hammertime
-
thanks.Very similar bow was found on Poland territory , 9000 year old , that was huntig bow http://histmag.org/?id=4637
-
Killer looking bow.
-
Thanks for that link! Great find!
-
hey i like everything about it. that grip wrap is just outstanding.
-
I love it! When you say "after hydration of wood" what do you mean? Did you soak the wood for a few days? Amazing bow.
-
when I make reflex on limbs with use hot steam rise humidity of wood. Before sinewing I wait few days
-
WOW!!! Nice recurve. Bookmarked for Feb. BOM contest. :)
-
I just shoot . On chrono about 172 fps 9/10 gpp.Im a little disappointed , but I think leather on limbs make bow slower. Without leather should shoot about 180 fps. I must think about birch bark
