Title: "Indian" Osage D-bow
Post by: dismount on February 09, 2011, 09:51:27 pm
Hi every body, Always liked the Indian motorcycle emblem. Rode an old on in the 60's some. 66" long, 1 1/8th wide down to 3/8th tips. Cleanest osage I've ever had, hardly even a pin knot! 42# @ 27. Missed my weight so I will pike it to about 48#. But it sticks 'em right where I'm looking.  I never flipped my tips so radically before so it takes some getting used to. I didn't have the brace height tall enough and it jumped the string while shooting. Has to clean my underwear! Anyway thanks for looking. Dismount

Second and third those comments, very very nicely done.  Dont know about the "pikin", but if it is shootin real good for you right now do you really want to cut into it to gain about 5# ?  It is your bow, and your descision, but it sure is a nice bow the way it is.

Thanks guys for the good words.  Half eye, you all are probably right, If I jerk around with it for a few more #'s might be tempting fate!  You all sure keep the standard high for bow making! Hard to keep up with all the great talent here on P.A. !!!!! Phil

Love it! If ya really think ya need the poundage higher you can cook the belly abit..that usually brings my bows up another 5-7 #'s...she's a keeper and I love the artwork. I love old motorcycles and can really appreciate the honor you give a real American Legend....Brian

You oughta leave that beauty like she is I wouldn't mess with it. If I wanted a heavier bow I'd build another one. JMO Ronnie

I tend to agree with the rest, its a beauty and hits where ya look don't get much better.  ::) ::) I'd think twice about cutin it. Great job. I'm with hillbilly nice job on flipin the tips.

I agree it is a great looking bow....and with it shooting where you are looking I suggest to leave it alone and shoot that thing. :)

Excellent work Dismount!!! Yep I'm gonna agree, I wouldn't mess with it either. You could take a deer with 42#. I would just have fun making another. ;)

Thanks all, for all the good feed back! You guys are great for encouragement! Sometimes a guy needs that. Hope to start on a hackberry paddle bow waiting in the garage. During Snowmageddon theres not much else to do. Thanks, Phil
