Title: from the bone pile not bom
Post by: bubby on February 09, 2011, 05:42:04 pm
this is the result of an experiment taken after going thru my deceased bow pile, had two limbs that almost matched up and thought I'd try to build a three piece, here's what I gotit's all hickory except for the walnut washers, 52# @ 29", 62" ntn, camo'd using Dirty Dan's Turkey feather method(http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt320/bubncheryl/100_2632.jpg)

thank's guy's, the camo is really easy to do, basically just take some turkey tail feathers, use the small one's ya can't fletch and use the tip to drag, pat and such to get the effect, Bub

That is a great save. I'm with everyone else, the camo is working. If I did'nt know the story I would think it was a commercially made bow. Nicley done.  Danny

That looks like a good way to use short peices of wood that won't make much otherwise........got the ol' brain ticking now.

when I built this I didnt have the taps or inserts for attaching the limbs, on this pic of another one I'm building you can see where the hickory strip is, drilled the holes befor cutting and installed tee nuts, cost $1.00 and impossible to come out(http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt320/bubncheryl/100_2727.jpg)
