Title: IIB or not IIB ?
Post by: aaron on February 07, 2011, 07:53:13 pm
haha, actually it's a IIA, Danish dagger type two A. It's a bit wide in the blade and of course not the right material, but, hey, I was just happy it came out in one piece. It's a tie for the longest piece i have ever made. Rainbow obsidian from Glass buttes. Mostly percussion work, with a pressure series at the end. Handle was done with a copper punch and is about 2:1. Blade done with moose and is about 5:1 or almost 6:1 in places. Originals had blades more like 7:1 , and were narrower in the blade, but I just couldn't bear the risk of any more thinning flakes!
