Hi all,
Just to introduce myself.
I am new to the board and just getting back into building bows after a long break due to a sever case of target panic. I am a hunter first and when I couldn't shoot with confidence I lost all my ambition for building any bows. I am happy to report that my problem appears to be gone, I hope for good.
My hobbies include bladesmithing and engraving as well as archery and fishing.
I'll post a pic or two of the latest bows I have built in the next couple of days.........need to take some pics first. ::)

Welcome Darcy. I too had the same problem a few years back. An old guy told me to change my practice habits and just shoot one arrow everyday. Just one! it's tempting to keep shooting, but if you know you only have one shot, accuracy improves in a hurry. That's what worked for me anyway. ;)

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. I do believe I have the TP licked..........I spent several weeks concentrating on just my anchor without worrying about where the arrow went at all. Lots of the time I just anchor and let down without shooting. Once I got that reprogrammed I was able to work on where the arrow goes. Good so far.
As promised here are a few pics of the two latest bows.
The long one is birch. 67"ntn 69#@26 inches elk antler tips 1 1/4" wide heat treated and slightly trapped. 1 1/4 inches set just after shooting.
smaller one is 55 1/4"ntn 62#@26" 1 3/8" wide. from a sapling 1 1/2" diam. set is just over 1 inch. Bottom limb has a bit of natural deflexjust past mid limb so it looks like it bends too much.

Dragonman,
Here's a pic of the last knife I made. Forged from a piece of saw blade. 9 1/2" blade elk antler and engraved mild steel fittings. copper ferrule.
