Here's some bird points I did over the past week. I've been waiting until my skill level improved before I used some of my colorful stuff. I broke a few but overall I think it was a productive week. :)
Most of the stuff is cooked and I have no idea what the materials are. The group of three purple ones at the bottom are alibates - raw and VERY hard material. There are a few others that are raw rootbeer from Texas.

Very fine, points anyone would be proud of.
-
Thanks Tower!
-
Wow, Patrick, those are nice. That is some good knotching.
-
Thanks Eddie. I spend a lot of time on the notches, that's for sure.
-
sweeeeet looking batch of cohika (sp?) style points
the one on the bottom right,is that a wintu style or just a variant on the cohika style?
either way is is realy nice
and your notches are very very nicely done ;)
-
I'd love to be able to do that quality of work, sweet point's, Bub
-
Dang Pat - you've become a machine since the last time I saw ya! What's it been, Three or four years? Them are some damn good lookin points man! How is the family by the way :)?
-
youre gonna have fun with what im putting together for ya. great work.
-
Sailordad, the point on the bottom right could be a cahokia or a washita or a desert side notched, depending on where you're from. ;D Thanks for the compliments.
Bub, you should see the quality of some of the real ones!
Paul, it's been about two years, I think. Anyway, thanks! The family is doing great!
Jamie, can't wait! ;D
-
Man those are great! I'd be happy to produce one of that quality over the next year, much less that many in a week.
-
I would say that they are excellently done and that your skill is better then mine.
-
Yes I would say you did have a productive weeken, beautiful work,I love them kind of points. :)

Thanks for the compliments guys!
-
Awesome points! I need some of them for deer hunting next year.
-
Patrick: I don't know how you can sit around and make all this tiny little stuff. I was going to make a bunch but could only muster one - like to have drove me insane ;D. Oh welll, I guess somebody that can turn out them perfect sinew bowstrings like you do has all the paitience in the world ;).
-
Great lookin points Pat. Very deadly looking :o I really like the alibates. Bob
-
Paul, the small stuff has been a challenge but bigger points seem easier now after a year of concentrating on bird points. I'm working on SUPER narrow notching right now and I think I'll quit with the small stuff soon. I'm gettin' a bad case of knappers' cramp. ;D
Oh yeah, cool point! You have some of the best material. Is that glass?
-
Hey Patrick: looking at your points inspired me to try one of those things. Man, you've gotten good! That is Fenton slag glass, all kinds of colors :). I think I'll try some thinner and some of that narrow entry notching. Will find out how nervous I am ;D.
-
Uh-oh... you're a glutton for punishment! :D
Just a note: Glass is too soft and brittle for me... and raw stone is too hard for good notching. I prefer the cooked Texas stone or high grade raw rootbeer. Georgetown is great too if you can get the clear stuff without the concrete.
Have fun! ;D
-
that's incredible!
-
Ok, I have been seeing these things on here, and have come to conclusion, that I will have to make a call to the Monastery in Bulgaria, where I have Shannon, and Jamie booked for five years, and reserve a place for you also. ::)
Sheesh! Those are incredible. :o Ishi would be Proud! ;)
