Hey guys,
figured I'd give you all an update on Mackenzie and share some pics.
This kid is doing so awesome. And I know that word is often overused but she really leaves me full of awe. She decided that she could crawl about 2 weeks ago! :o ;D :'( This is something we weren't sure if she was going to be able to do but she just up and decided that she wasn't going to let anything hold her back. She is so stubborn and always pushes herslef and refuses to give up even when things are hard for her. She has also decided out of the blue that she wants to be a cuddle bug. She really gives the greatest hugs. And she almost always has a grin on her face.
She had an MRI recently and the neurosurgeon said he's relatively certain now that she will not need a shunt. She has been UTI free now for 3 1/2 months. She went 4 months nonstop with UTI's so this is a really huge thing.
Overall she is just awesome. I can tell you that from birth to about 6 months old I really had to work hard to stay upbeat and actually enjoy her, now everytime I look at her I crack into a smile. In short I'mloving being a Dad.
We spent the afternoon at the park with the dog. Enjoy the pics.

Nate, I'm so happy to see Mackensey doing so well. You guys have been down a rough road this last year or so but your rewards are obvious. Both you and your wife have every reason to be proud parents...and Mackensel's smile makes me smile too. My little girl is almost 39 so I miss those cuddles. :(

Nate I'm happy for you and you're family, It must be a huge load off you're mind to see McKenzie doing so well. Take care of you're family and enjoy every minute, she'll be grown before you know it.Ronnie

-
Nate, that is so awesome she is doing so well, you sure have something so precious to smile about.

Thats awesome man. your little girl is a cutie. I always think its cool when a full grown dog knows just how gentle to be around babies(the good ones anyway). nice pictures and congrats on her medical issues that always gets rid of alot of stress.
-
Thanks guys, I have decided though that I want to pause her at this age, all you guys talking about grown up daughters really freaks me out :o
Erik, It is amazing that he can go one minute mauling me and the next being all gentle around her. It's kinda neat how a dog knows when they can and can't rough house.

Great news Nate enjoy each and every moment they grow up so fast

Nate, She is just such a beauty! Obviously she gets it from her Mother! ;D That smile would melt the coldest heart, and snatch you right out of the deepest depression! ;)
There is a series of short videos, called "Suburban Truck Monkey" One of them is about dating. You need to go on You Tube and look it up, or just google it. I am so glad that she is doing so well. I Will keep her and her Mommy and Daddy in my Prayers. Thank you so much for sending the pictures. and don't be stingy with them. So how do you find time to make such beautiful bows, and train dogs, etc? So how many little bows have you made for her already? You have a beautiful family Nate, even the furry kid is cute. Give your Wife a big ol hug, and tell her she has to return it to you, for use later on. You two have been through a lot, and I pray that is all past now, and you can really enjoy a very beautiful Daughter, who is so lucky to have such loving parents. And of course she is very Lucky to have such a great brother. Even if he does have four legs, and hair all over, and drools. ::) ;D

Nate, the Trunk Monkey video I was thinking of, is called, " Trunk Monkey, chaperone " watch all the Trunk monkey series, they are great.
-
Wayne, Yep all Momma ;)
As far as the time factor. The biggest thing is, I don't watch television. We didn't even have cable or satellite until a couple weeks ago. Some guys spend their time keeping up with their favorite sports teams and such, I spend what I can with the family and the rest of the time play with dogs, work with my reptiles and my feeder breeding business, and build bows. I decided a few years ago why should I watch other people live their lives when I can do things and be productive with my own life. My Daughter is usually in bed by 7pm and my wife is off to work shortly after that. So I have the evenings to play in the shop and stuff. Dog training doesn't take much time, you'd be suprised what 15 minutes a day will do for a dog.
Now that I've preached about watching TV I'm gonna go watch those videos ;D
