Title: Stave Press
Post by: Bevan R. on January 01, 2011, 12:26:08 pm
I guess I can ask this because they are a PA advertiser...
Anyone use/have one of these?  ???
Just do not like the idea of a shave horse. Would like to hear from someone that has experience with one before I shell out the $$$.

I watched the fellow who makes them using one at Mojam this summer. The press seems well made and pretty handy to use... I have enough vices or I'd have probably bought one.

They are a great tool, especially when you are removing bark and sap wood from stave's. They will hold any shape and size stave . A great product. IMO

I fooled around with one at Teds place(Raptor archery) It worked well for holding a full size stave for debarking. Thats about the only experiance I've had with one. It seems like it would do just as well when the stave takes on bow dimensions

I saw it in use at Pappy's Classic last year. It did everything it is advertised to do. I looked like a great tool to have for reducing staves.
