Someone who uses a belt sander in their bow making: what's a good brand? Thanks!

hugostead,
I got my belt sander as a gift, it's a Craftsman. I like it a lot.

My wife bought me a new skill from Lowes $119.  I bought a used Ryobi off of craigslist for $25.  The Skill works, but the Ryobi is  much better.  I keep a rough belt on one and a smooth belt on the other and use both of them.

I not to long ago purchased a Porter Cable 4"x36" belt sander with the 8" disc.  So far so good but I have not used it yet for bow making.  It is a step up from the basic Ryobi and such.  It was $180 bucks from Lowes.

I wore out a Craftsman 4x36 after many years of use. I now have a Grizzly 6x48 and it works great. I like having a disc sander attached too.

It has taken me about 15 years to wear out a delta bench. Took of the small disk cause it was in the way. Use it a bunch for rough shaping. Will get another bench maybe a bigger one to replace. Brand will depend on the check book at the time, but I will not shy away from another delta just because it is the cheepest.

Much thanks for your imputs guys! I went with Craftsman 6x48" belt sander with 9" disk. I'm really stoked. I'll have other questions about making arrows with a router jig, and best string to make, etc. Thanks!

I have what Pat has, a Grizzly 6x48 and I use it on just about every bow I make. I can swap belts in 30 seconds.

All this got me wishing and low and behold, got a 25% off coupon in the e-mail from Habor.
Looked and they have a 6x48 with 9" disk marked down to $200. After the coupon and with shipping, just over $175.  :o
Now just waiting for the delivery O:)
