Hey, all. I enjoy making neck knives, especially a little one I call a "toothpick" necker. Anyway, the bunch at the top were made for Christmas presents for all the guys in my family while the ones below are a random mix, including a picture that shows how the sheath works. They're all made from either 1080 steel or reclaimed saw mill blades. Scales are a mixture of horn, zebra wood, flamed maple, and quilted maple. The group at the top were etched in vinegar to remove the forge scaling and add a grey patina, then lightly buffed to polish the high spots. Thanks for looking!

Sweet bunch of Knives...would really like to know more about that sheath design....
-
me too
-
:o :o :o Incredible
-
I like the knives.....so the weight of the knives on the string holds the sheath strap on the knife to retain it?
-
Thanks, guys! :) The sheath is designed to be worn blade up, and the neck lanyard is attached directly to the small strap that wraps around the finger guard of the knife. When worn on the neck, the knife is held securely in the sheath, and the harder you pull on the knife and/or sheath, the more securely it is retained. It's a bit more complicated to explain clearly than it actually is. I hope that helps!

Very cool knives, and that sheath design is very clever. I like it a lot!

Nope.............. :P
The way I see it, it looks like the ends of the lanyard cross over each other inside the leather loop on the tip of the sheath, and then attach to the flap that holds the knife in.
