Title: scale for tillering a bow which one?

I am going to build a tillering tree and want to buy a scale and cant spend more than a $100. Which scale would you suggest?

I use one from Three Rivers 0 to 100 lbs.It's not near that much and works fine.

i just got a digital handheld luggage scale for 14.95, 0-80 pounds and has a handle on it.
made by Taylor (i think)

I bought a hanging scale from the hardware store.  I think it goes up to 110# or so, and was about $50.

Like I said mine is a Hansen, very similar to Pappy's. I think they make one to 100# and one to 200#.

Might be worth doing a search on ebay for a good used commercial scales. These are calibrated and checked for accuracy. Here in the UK the name to look out for is Salter, but the principle brand may be different where you are. A used set of good commercial scales will no doubt outlast and be more accurate than many new scales made for fishing or other sales to the public - perhaps even archery scales. Sadly with so many small stores going to the wall there are plenty around.

i use an old analog bathroom scale
it goes to 300 lbs  ;D
but i only need the frist 55 lbs or less when making bows

I have a Hansen/Viking 100# scale and a Digital.
 The digital is smaller, easier and acuracy is better.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions OK i went with the digital. Now I need a pulley and a cord.

I have a Hanson Hand Held which I hold in my hand and is attached to the rope of my pulley. The weight registers and stays.
